Lady Blue Devils Let Lead Slip Away Against Smoky – Brevard NC

It was a tough loss for the Brevard Lady Blue Devils Tuesday night as they saw another halftime lead slip away as they fell to Smoky Mountain 44-36.

The Mustangs entered the game with an 11-1 record but found themselves under siege in the first quarter.

YaaQoa Ivey got things started with a three-pointer and layup to give Brevard a 5-0 lead. The Lady Blue Devils' defense kept Smoky ineffective early and forced turnovers that led to easy points.

Nijayah Cruell and Ashley McBee hit layups to extend Brevard's advantage to 9-0 and prompted a Smoky timeout with 4:15 to play in the first quart...
