Trump Keeps Plans Quiet

 


Allow me to comment briefly on a statement in D.G. Martin’s column of Feb. 8, 2016. Mr. Martin correctly, in my view, discusses “What Happens with Unelectable Candidates.” When they are too extreme, they usually lose. Mitt Romney lost in 2012, not because he was too extreme, but because the far right wing of the Republican Party didn’t think he was conservative enough, and therefore did not turn out to vote for him in about five key states that Mr. Obama narrowly carried, thereby costing Mr. Romney the election, resulting in Mr. Obama’s victory.
