One Bad Decision At A Time


It’s not easy being a “businessman’s governor.” He started his successful journey to the top of the Republican heap by attempting to settle the 30-mile Dan River coal ash spill with Duke Power (his ex-employer for over 20 years) by offering to have Duke pay about $100,000 dollars as a settlement for contaminating the river with coal ash. Shortly thereafter, a federal court adjusted the settlement figure upward to about $100 million.

Then the “business man’s Governor” delivered a political boo-boo” when he attempted to placate pro-choice activists with a plate of cookies. I...
