William Douglas Muir

In order to spare others from the task of recording the events of my life, I have elected to do so myself.

I was born to Herbert Muir and Olive Farnham in Augusta, Maine on the 7th of February, 1934 and departed my earthly life on the 30th of April, 2016, to be welcomed into the arms of my Saviour, Jesus Christ. In addition to my parents, I was preceded in death by my grandparents, William Muir, Sarah Kaye, Rolando Alonzo Farn-ham and Alberta Ellen Cain; my younger brother, Robert Alan Muir and my stepdaughter, Dawn Reneé Barnhisel.

I am survived by my sons, William Colin Muir and Matthew David Muir; Colin's son, William Alexander Muir; by beloved wife, Linda Mae Muir; our daughter, Diane Elizabeth Rosemark and her husband, Daniel Rosemark and their two sons, Dylan Rosemark and Devon Rosemark; our daughter, Delynne Rae Barnhisel and her husband, John Bauchat; our daughter, Devonne Johnson and her son, Derek Johnson; our son, Douglas Thompson and his wife, Peggy Briggs and their two children, Kelsey Ann Thompson-Briggs, her brother, Cory Andrew Thompson-Briggs and his wife, Gwyneth Thompson-Briggs, each and all of whom I love as my own.

In common with the lives of others, my behavior has included some positive characteristics, along with a regrettable portion of other elements. I was blessed during my life and well into adulthood by the influence of my parents, who were responsible for much of whatever positive characteristics my life reflected.

Finally, I have forgiven those who have offended me and I ask for forgiveness of those whom I offended. I offer my undying gratitude to those whose lives have blessed mine, to the Episcopal Church for my spiritual journey and the United States Marine Corps for the opportunity to serve my country. I have been dearly blessed by God who has given me a family of outstanding human beings and who has been given me the love of my life, Linda, whom I love with all my heart, mind and soul.

A memorial service is to be held June 13, 2016, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 256 E. Main St., in Brevard, at 2 p.m.

My Christian burial will take place in the Village Cemetery of North Vassalboro, Maine, the 27th of August, 2016.

If someone wishes to make an offering, remember "Wounded Warriors," or the Foundation of St. Philip's Church.
