School Boards And Taxes

 


Once again it is budget time and the local school board and county commissioners will have to negotiate the amount of money the school system will receive from the county. Sometimes the discussions are affable and quick; sometimes they are not.

These negotiations would be unnecessary if the school board were given the authority the other three elected bodies in this county have – the ability to raise their revenues through property taxes.
