Transylvania County Schools Friday recognized staff achievements. Kristi Clark was named Teacher of the Year, while Amanda Metcalf was named Teacher Assistant of the Year. Kristi Clark, a second grade teacher at Pisgah Forest Elementary School, received the Teacher of the Year award for Transylvania County Schools Friday during an awards luncheon held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

Amanda Metcalf of Rosman High School was named the Teacher Assistant of the Year.

Amber Webb of First Citizens Bank, which sponsors the award and presented it to Clark, praised all of those nominated for the award and the county's teachers in general.
