Keep Electronics Recycling Laws

The North Carolina Senate is considering legislation that would repeal the state’s electronics recycling program and end a 2010 ban on electronics in landfills. Such legislation is short-sighted and dangerous.

One of the reasons given for repealing the law and landfill ban is that the recycling market is down. State Sen. Trudy Wade, R.–Guilford, told the Associated Press, “If recycling ever comes back, we can always change the law and go back to recycling.”
