Béla Fleck, Washburn Return To Mountains - Brevard, NC

Béla Felck and his wife Abigail Washburn return to perform at the Brevard Music Center on June 28. While the two will perform as a duo, part of the show will include a banjo concerto written by Fleck performed with the BMC orchestra.

Some say bluegrass music was born in the mountains of Appalachia.

It's fitting that the man some consider to be the greatest banjo player on earth is headed back to the mountains, thanks to local promoters Mountain Song Productions, who've teamed up with Brevard Music Center to bring Béla Fleck and his wife Abigail Washburn to Brevard Music Center on June 28.

"Béla was an obvious choice," said John Felty, co-founder of Mountain Song Productions.

However, combining bluegrass with classical music wasn't an obvious choice.
