No Cause Found For Fish Kill-Brevard NC

No "conclusive cause" has been found for the fish kill last week in King's Creek on the Brevard College campus, according to the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

On Thursday afternoon, Kim Skeen, her daughter, Lillian, and Annaly Baron, a family friend were playing along the creek - opposite the dorms -when the girls noticed a dead fish.

Then, they noticed another, and another.

The girls stopped counting after 155.

The fish were mostly suckerfish and minnows, but a few Brook trout were spotted floating in the creek.
