Transylvania Waters: An Economic Foundation, A Conservation Legacy

Over the years we've watched as DuPont State Recreational Forest was created and the North Carolina Forest Service has dealt with growing crowds, drawn in part by waterfalls and swimming holes along the Little River. Over the years, we've seen boating access points pop up along the French Broad River, not only in Transylvania County, but along its entire North Carolina route. For decades, U.S. 276 served as a key gateway to Pisgah National Forest – giving quick and easy access to the Davidson River – frequented by anglers, tubes, campers and rock sliders.
