A woman drove her car into a building column at the CVS Pharmacy on Asheville Highway Thursday morning.

Brevard Police and Brevard Fire Department were called about 9:30 a.m. to reports of a motorist striking the building.

The woman, whose name was not released, apparently had her foot slip from the break, causing an acceleration into a concrete block in the yard of the building, which caused her car to bounce off and strike the column.

The front wall of the building was not struck.

Brevard Police Department is still investigating the matter to determine the official cause.

The woman appeared uninjured in the crash. Her late model sedan suffered heavy front-end damage.

According to witnesses, who were inside the building when the incident occurred, the building was evacuated. Dozens of employees and customers stood in the parking lot, awaiting the building to be reopened. Brevard Fire Chief Craig Budzinski said it's the fourth time a vehicle has struck the building on the Asheville Highway.

Last September, a woman drove her vehicle through the front window of the store, temporarily trapping a store clerk.
