Teen Struck By Car - Brevard NC

September 15, 2016

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect who allegedly struck a teen on his bike on Monday morning, causing minor injuries.

According to Sgt. Jason Page, with the Brevard Police Department, a 15-year-old was riding his bike across the crosswalk at Gallimore and North Country Club roads shortly before 8 a.m. when a motorist attempting to turn right from Gallimore onto Country Club Road struck him, knocking him off his bike.

Page said the teen fell to the ground and suffered scrapes and minor injuries and was able to return to school that day.

The suspect allegedly got out of her car and removed the bike from under her car, while bystanders helped the victim, and then got back in her car and fled the scene.

Multiple witnesses described the suspect as a white female in her 20s or early 30s, blond hair with red or purple highlights, slender build, driving a gold colored early 2000s Chevy Malibu.

Anyone with information is asked to call Page at (828) 883-2212.
