Thanks to Michelle Crum for her efforts in asking our county school system to do away with posted behavioral charts. As a longtime early educator I agree wholeheartedly with her reasoning.

Young children, birth through 7 or 8 years, think concretely and their education must be based on their brain development. Children 8 plus years have the capacity for abstract thinking and are able to understand an academic approach to education. Kindergarteners, however, need a different approach.
