School Bus Involved In Minor Accident-Brevard NC

A Transylvania County Schools bus was struck from the rear on Friday morning, while transporting Rosman High School students to Brevard High School. All students returned to school uninjured and without further incident. No charges were filed against the driver of the vehicle immediately following the incident.

Bus 121, a yellow 2010 Freightliner bus, was struck from behind by a Mitsubishi Eclipse while carrying Marine Corps Junior ROTC students from Rosman High to their scheduled class at Brevard High.

Staff from TCS Transportation attended to the incident, along with NC State Highway Patrol, school resource officers from the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office, and other emergency management personnel.


The bus sustained roughly $5,000 to $6,000 in damage. Transylvania County Schools was not found at fault in the incident. The school bus driver brought the bus to a controlled stop after the impact. No other vehicles were involved.
