Early Voting Began Thursday, New Opening Day Record-Brevard NC

One-stop early voting began at 10 a.m., Thursday, at the new county Election Center on South Gaston Street in Brevard. According to the Board of Elections, 905 residents cast ballots, a new opening day record, and just short of the all-time largest daily turnout of 914. Thursday's turnout was 145 more voters than the first day of early voting in 2012. Molby Sorrells and Connie Keeney were the first to vote and were among a large group of local residents waiting to cast their ballots.
