Tigers Show Resiliency In Road Loss To Maroon Devils – Rosman NC

After missing last week's game due to injury, Tanner Whitman returned Friday night to pick up 30 yards on the ground while leading the Tigers with 65 yards receiving. Rosman added 15 points in the second half, but Swain County held on for the 35-15 win. (Times photos by Scotty Ruff)

Friday night's matchup between the Rosman Tigers and the Swain Maroon Devils may have looked like another Tiger blowout, but the Tigers showed huge strides and got a few players back from the injury list.

The Maroon Devils wasted little time exposing the Tigers' secondary in the first quarter, passing for two touchdowns and adding a running score to lead 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Deland Thomas led the Tigers' defense in a strong showing, recording 10 tackles to start the second quarter.
