Local Veterans Discuss Patriotism, Duty – Brevard NC

Three local veterans -Stan Jacobsen, Duke Woodhull and Roger Herbert - discussed their military careers and patriotism at Brevard College Thursday night. The event was moderated by Paul Morgan, another veteran.

Jacobsen said he majored in music in college, but joined the Marines during Vietnam. After the war, he worked for the FBI for 25 years and then in private security abroad and in the U.S. He is now the director of security at Brevard College.

Woodhull served in the Air Force for 30 years from 1955 to 1985.

"It bookends the Cold War," he said of his career.
