Tornados Defeat Bob Jones, Hudson's First Win As Interim Coach – Brevard NC

Donald Hudson earned his first career victory as a head coach Tuesday night as the Brevard women's basketball team (1-1) sailed past Bob Jones University (4-3) by a score of 73-65 in the women's first home game of the season.

Tornados' sophomore AnnaLee Bollinger (Hickory, N.C.) would lead the scoring surge for Brevard.

Bollinger scored 19 points on the night, thirteen of those points came in the fourth quarter to help the Tornados pull away from the Bruins. The guard would have five three-pointers on the night, putting her in a tie for fourth place in Brevard's NCAA era records for 3-point field goals made.

During the first half of play there would be several lead changes between the teams.

Brevard would end the first half down 33-29. However, the Tornados would dominate the second half, outscoring the Bruins 17-8 in the third quarter and 27-24 in the fourth quarter.

Three other Tornados would finish the game with double digit points.

Senior Madison Lenox (Raleigh, N.C.) and junior Kelsie Rhyne (Taylorsville, N.C.) would each score 13 points for Brevard.

Rhyne would be a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Lenox would dominate the boards for Brevard coming up with several critical offensive and defensive rebounds for the Tornados.

Senior Lynsey Crisp (Robbinsville, N.C.) would sink in 12 points while dishing out a handful of assists. Freshman Cienna Bryant (Roanoke, Va.) would step up for the Tornados, as the guard would score all of her nine points from behind the arc.

The Bruins offense was led by Sha'ron Brunson and Sydney Bedsaul who each had 13 points for Bob Jones. Sophomore guard Sarah Thomsen would add 12 points to the Bruins total.

Brevard will be on the road for their final matchup before conference play begins, as they travel to High Point University, Thursday Nov. 17.

Tip-off begins at 7 p.m.
