An Enjoyable Afternoon

It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Silvermont, on Saturday, Nov. 19, in preparation for the annual fundraiser. The refreshments were delicious and the entertainment took the audience back in time as we enjoyed Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley singing all the favorite songs from “way back when.”

When Elvis sang his rendition of “Blue Christmas” if left me feeling blue to see all the empty seats that should have been filled with the people who enjoy the programs and the grounds of Silvermont on a regular basis. Chris Parker and her staff do a wonderful job providing programs for seniors and I was disappointed for them that the turnout was so small.

I was proud of Carol Gerson, our Ageless Grace instructor, who came from Asheville and stayed for the clean up.

That is just one of the many programs we enjoy at Silvermont. Chris and staff deserve our support and appreciation for what they do.

Many thanks for a very enjoyable afternoon.
