A Picnic Hike At Lake Alford In DuPont State Recreational Forest

This week's outdoor destination hike is Lake Alford in DuPont State Recreational Forest. Lake Alford is located behind Lake Dense, near the Buck Forest parking lot, and is about an hour hike on mostly gravel roads, with some multi-use trail in the woods.

Some call it a pond, because it's not very big at all. It is shaded and secluded, however, as far as DuPont goes. The lake is actually connected to Lake Julia and Lake Dense via a 6-inch pipe.
