Tigers' Slugger Henson Signs With Spartanburg Methodist

Rosman Tiger senior Marissa Henson, seated center, signed her letter of intent to play softball for Spartanburg Methodist College last Thursday with her parents at her side. In two seasons with the Lady Tigers, Henson has led the team in batting average, RBIs, hits, doubles, triples and home runs.

Rosman senior Marissa Henson still has one season left to play for the Lady Tigers' softball team, but last Thursday she officially took the first step in her college playing career by signing her letter of intention with Spartanburg Methodist College.

Henson is a two-time Smoky Mountain all-conference selection and serves as the big stick in Rosman's lineup.

She batted .478 as a sophomore and .444 last spring as a junior.
