Library To Host Second Program In Wildlife Series – Brevard NC

The second program in the "Wildlife of Transylvania County" series will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Rogow Room at the Transylvania County Library. This week's presentation features salamanders.

There are 69 known species of salamanders in North Carolina, 50 of which reside in the mountains of western North Carolina. Habitat destruction has led to the endangerment of several species, including the green salamander. A large number of these green salamanders make their home in deep rocky crevices found in Transylvania County. Learn about their habitat, prey, predators...
