Albert Joseph Smith

Albert Joseph Smith, 66, a longtime resident of Brevard, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 15, 2017, at 12:15 a.m. at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville.

He was born in Kinston, Jamaica Aug. 2, 1950. His ex-wife, Lois Harris, precedes him in death.

James, as he is called by all those who knew him, was a very private and hardworking master builder.

He is survived by four stepchildren; Tara Robinson, of Brevard, Carol Robinson, of Hendersonville, Michael Robinson, of Brevard and Reva Robinson, of Flat Rock; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday Jan. 21, 2017, with visitation at 1 p.m., at Glade Creek Baptist Church, in Pisgah Forest.
