Heart Of Brevard Maintains Pulse Of Downtown – Brevard NC

This time of the year can be particularly slow for retail businesses, restaurants and others in downtown Brevard and the rest of the county.

Despite that, there's plenty going on in the Heart of the Brevard (HOB), the 16-block Municipal Service District, which is overseen by a staff and a board. It is funded by a special tax on those in the district (roughly $118,000), plus additional funding from the city (roughly $30,000, of which $11,000 is paid back to the city to fund a future streetscape project) and an additional $110,000 in private investment.
