Enoch Reese

Enoch Reese, 92, of Brevard, passed away in Travelers Rest, S.C. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017.

He was born May 19, 1924, in Madison County, N.C. to the late Cecil and Esther Reese. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ila Audrey Slagle Reese, as well as his brothers, Cornelius, Otto, Winslow, Aaron, Moses, Joseph, Plato and Levi Reese and sisters, Lula Reese Wilds, Ollie Reese Coates and Minnie Reese Buckner.

Survivors include his four sons, Larry (Susan), Sam (Kay), Philip (Margaret), and Tim (Pamela) Reese; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; his sister, Leila Reese Easterly and brother, Oakley Reese; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a lifelong farmer, managing farms in North and South Carolina and Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Ledford and Rev. Ron Nelson, officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military honors provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
