Clean, Safe Roads

March 23, 2017

With the arrival of spring comes the commensurate spring cleaning. The cleaning, however, is not just limited to our homes, but also includes our communities and roads. Last Saturday residents of the See Off Community picked up enough roadside trash to fill up 23 trash bags. This week roadside cleanups will occur throughout the Little River Community. This will be the 20th year for such cleanups in Little River. Other communities and organizations in the county will conduct similar cleanups in the coming weeks.

The advent of spring not only brings volunteers out to clean the roadsides, but it also brings bicyclists, runners and children out to exercise and play on our roads and roadsides.

Drivers should always pay the utmost care when driving. But now that spring has arrived, drivers need to keep a wary eye out for more than just other drivers. We need to be aware of those who are enjoying our roads in a more leisurely manner or who are helping keep our communities clean and attractive.
