Officials Recap Historic Fire Season This Fall

This past fall’s historic fire season was one of the topics of conversation at the recent Transylvania Natural Resources Council (TNRC) meeting.

Both Jason Guidry, the DuPont State Recreational Forest supervisor, and Frank “Buster” Rogers, the county ranger with the N.C. Forest Service, presented the council with information about what lead to the widespread wildfire break out, despite land managers across the South issuing burn bans.

Guidry said that the historic season was the result of weather patterns.
