The Transylvania Times -

Tim Barnwell To Speak On April 18

April 10, 2017

The Transylvania County Library will be hosting a talk by prominent North Carolina photographer and author Tim Barnwell as part of its Brown Bag Lunch series on Tuesday, April 18, from 12-1 p.m.

Barnwell will speak about his latest book, “Great Smoky Mountains Vistas: A Guide, with Mountain Peak Identifications, For What to See and Do In and Around the National Park.”

The new volume serves as a guidebook to the park and has a unique mountain peak identification component, similar to what was done for his bestselling “Blue Ridge Parkway Vistas” book. A PowerPoint presentation will highlight geography, history, area attractions, little known spots that are worth visiting and how the mountain peak identifications were done.

The library’s monthly Bag Lunch Arts Series spotlights authors, artists, performers and speakers who share their talent and knowledge. They are held at noon in the Rogow Family Community Room in the library. Patrons are encouraged to bring along a bag lunch to enjoy before the program. Cookies and coffee are courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Programs last approximately one hour. The talk is free and open to the public. Barnwell will be signing books following the talk.
