School Board Seeks More For Capital Projects - Brevard, NC

A vote on approving bids to put new roofs on Brevard Middle School and the maintenance shop led to a discussion about the need for more capital outlay funding at the Transylvania County Board of Education meeting Monday evening.

Norris Barger, director of business services and plant operations, said new roofs at the two locations are “sorely needed.” The roof at Brevard Middle School is 27 years old.

“I forget how many buckets we have down at the shop right now catching water when it rains,” said Barger. “And the same thing at Brevard Middle School.”
