Sharing House Diary: Pack The Pantry This Saturday

Rotarians collected shoppers' donations at participating grocery stores and delivered the food to the courthouse gazebo, where a small army of volunteers sorted and repacked it for storage at Sharing House. Rotarian Mary Scott Christfield made collections at last spring's Pack The Pantry food drive from Fred Nebrig and other volunteers provided by local churches and service clubs. They greeted shoppers with grocery lists and collected their donations.

Twice a year Pisgah Forest Rotary, WSQL and our own Sharing House volunteers collect food and cash donations from you to Pack The Pantry.

We also appreciate the volunteers from area churches and service clubs, who will be stationed at these local shopping venues – Food Lion, Bi-Lo, Ingles, Go Grocery, Dollar General, Dollar Tree – to hand out shopping lists and to collect your generous gifts to keep Transylvanians in need from going hungry.

This Saturday is one such food drive, and the weekend before Thanksgiving is the other. Come see us at work at the courthouse gazebo, where WSQL...
