She was a teacher the first few years out of college but spent most of her professional career in furniture and real estate sales. She was also an avid sports fan and carried that into her children's lives by being an active member of Brevard's Youth Football and Cheerleading programs and continued serving in various capacities throughout her daughters' high school years. She enjoyed playing tennis and played on several leagues during her life. She was a co-founder of the Brevard Racquet Club, which is still operating today. She was an active member at Temple Baptist Church for many years, where she taught Sunday school.

Of all her accomplishments, her love of family was her biggest joy, her heart and, ultimately, her legacy. Her daughters and grandchildren were the light of her life! She was always at their various activities/sporting events and took every opportunity to be at and celebrate all of their various accomplishments.

Phoenix Funeral Services and Graystone Church are caring for the family. A Celebration of Life Service was held at Graystone Church, 1551 Ozora Road, Loganville, Ga., on July 23, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Graystone Church directly or to the Arthritis Foundation at http://www.curearthritis.org.
