Boys & Girls Club Having A Busy Summer - Brevard, NC

Just riding one of the club's five buses on a field trip can be fun, especially when it's on this one, a 20-seater that's the smallest bus of the fleet. Here, at front left, program specialists Emily Robinson, 20, (left) and Brooklyn Owen, 19, join the enthusiasm for another adventure.

School bells may be silent these days, but there are plenty of sounds coming from the Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club during its busy summer program.

There, crowds of children are having fun and learning at the same time during eight weeks of Monday through Friday activities now in full swing.

Each day's schedule starts at 8 a.m. with a full breakfast in the club's multi-purpose cafeteria. After the morning's activities, a hearty lunch is served to each participant.
