According to a new study, every 20 days a veteran commits suicide. Many of them return from the battlefield with extreme physical and mental damage. Limbs are lost, and burns can be incompatible with life.

PTSD can take over a soldier’s life, making existence difficult. Wounds may not be visible.

Many veterans harbor feelings of despair and depression.

Major mental illnesses may come to light. Loneliness can be overwhelming. Families endure tremendous strain.

Surprisingly, in recent years the VA has had a turnover in personnel at the top.
