School Board Bill Not Heard

The bill that would have returned Transylvania County Board of Education elections to non-partisan was not heard during the recent General Assembly session.

In February, N.C. Rep. Cody Henson, who represents District 113, which includes Transylvania County, introduced House Bill 127 that would have returned the elections to nonpartisan.

“I attempted to have it moved through the committee process, but was unable to have it heard in the Elections Committee,” Henson said when contacted about the bill’s status.
