Joseph Thomas DeLage, 96, of Sapphire, passed into God’s loving care Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

He was born in Detroit, Mich. to the late Henry and Rose Blanche DeLage and grew up in Dearborn, Mich., where he was an active member and leader of the Boy Scouts of America, Troup D.

During World War II, he joined the Army Air Corps and saw three-and-a-half years of service in North Africa, Sicily, France, England and D-Day.
