Let Us Not Forget

Let us not forget that America began with protest. We have a long and rich history of protests, many of which are still celebrated. The Boston Tea Party comes to mind.

In the mid-1700s one of my ancestors hanged a man named William Merrill for not paying his taxes. My ancestor was a loyalist, and Merrill was a Baptist who refused to pay taxes because they went to support the Church of England.
