Western North Carolina has a wide variety of invasive pests, such as the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (pictured above) the Emerald Ashe Borer, and Pine beetles, that are causing major issues. Dr. Jill Sidebottom of N.C.S.U. Cooperative Extension will discuss how to identify these pests and what to do if and when people find them in the woods. The workshop will be held at the Community Services Building in the Conference Room at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 21. Call (828) 884-3109 or email for more information.
