Stay Cool And Hydrated

The past three days have been quite hot here in the mountains, reaching above 90 degrees on Friday and Saturday. While temperatures are expected to cool during the week, the humidity may rise, so people can still have some very adverse effects to the heat and humidity. And we still have the dog days of August ahead.

According to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, most heat-related problems involve males ages 25-44 who are doing outdoor work, such as landscaping or roofing, or engaging in recreational activities, such as hiking and biking.
