City To Hold Alcohol Hearing - Brevard, NC

The Brevard City Council will hold a public hearing on Aug. 22 on possible changes to its ordinances that would allow alcohol to be served at 10 a.m. on Sundays, instead of noon, within the city limits.

On June 30, Gov. Roy Cooper signed a bill into law, allowing bars, restaurants and restaurants to begin serving alcoholic beverages at 10 a.m. Sundays.

Local government boards, however, must first approve the change.

If adopted by the city, the change will allow for the sale of malt beverages, unfortified and fortified wine, and mixed beverages to be sold two hours earlier on Sundays....
