Plenty Of Things Planned To Celebrate Solar Eclipse - Brevard, NC

As Transylvania County is one of the few counties in North Carolina that will be in the “zone of totality” for the solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21, there are a number of events planned to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event.

The Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) is the only place where the total eclipse will occur directly over some of the most advanced astronomical equipment in the world.

PARI will serve as a home to two NASA research teams during the eclipse.

In addition to NASA, more than 200 amateur astronomers will be in attendance, along with 800 other eclipse...
