Free Books From United Way At Library And Housing Authority - Brevard, NC

United Way of Transyl-vania County (UWTC) has made arrangements with the Transylvania County Lib-rary and the Brevard Housing Authority to distribute 167 bags of new books to children from birth to age 5. This is the second phase of UWTC's Early Childhood New Book Shower.

During the first phase, volunteers gave bags of new books to 133 children from birth to age 5 during the Family Splash Day event at the library on July 29. Thanks to donors, United Way volunteers bagged up more than 1,100 books, with an estimated value over $5,000.
