"Captain" John Burt Vaughn

"Captain" John Burt Vaughan, 64, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Aug. 25, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late L.B. Vaughan Sr. and Elizabeth Walker Vaughan. A brother, L.B. Vaughan Jr, also preceded him in death.

He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

A 1972 graduate of Brevard High School, he was a longtime employee of Winn Dixie, known as J.B. Vaughan.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Clark Vaughan; daughter, Kimberlee Snoddy, and husband, Dusty, of Etowah; grandson, Levi Ryder Snoddy; sisters, Becky Ashbaugh, of Rosman, Grace Owen and husband, Curtis, of Pisgah Forest, Ginny Clanton and husband, David, of Penrose; brothers, Bill Vaughan and wife, Nancy, of Pisgah Forest, Tom Vaughan and Martha Maxwell, of Pisgah Forest and Joe Vaughan and wife, Lori, of Lake Toxaway; and several nieces and nephews.

He always sang, "I'm going home, I've done my time"

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at Morningside Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
