From the time I started kindergarten until I graduated high school, the traditional public schools I attended in Henderson County cared for me, shaped my future and inspired me to become a teacher myself. In the bad times and good times alike, the school bus driver was there to pick me up in the morning; the teachers were there to help me to learn and grow; the cafeteria staff and custodians made the school a welcoming place; and the principal and other staff members made sure that everything ran smoothly. They were there for me when I needed them, every time.
