Lady Slipper Speaker Series Returns To Brevard College

The southern Appalachian region contributed a third of all indigenous medicinal plants for use in commercial medicines at the dawn of the 20th century.

The Lady Slipper Speaker Series presented by Conserving Carolina, formerly Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy and Pacolet Area Conservancy, returns to Brevard College starting Wednesday, Sept. 20. The first talk, "Hunting Lady's Slipper: The Origins of the Botanical Drug Trade in Southern Appalachia" given by Dr. Luke Manget, a graduate of the University of Georgia, will start at 6:30 p.m. in McLarty-Goodson 125.
