Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is the time of the year when the contributions of Hispanic-Americans to the United States are recognized and the culture and Hispanic heritage are celebrated. This recognition began in 1968 as the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Week that was approved by President Lyndon Johnson and which in 1988 was expanded by Ronald Reagan to cover a period of 30 days, beginning Sept. 15 and ending Oct. 15.
