Frances H. Rice

Frances H. Rice, 98, of Brevard, passed away Sept. 16, 2017, to join her beloved husband, Dr. Robert A. Rice. She also joins her parents, William Francis and Mary Pratt Hibberd, as well as her brother, Leslie Hibberd, formerly of Rockland, Mass.

She helped her husband as a veterinary assistant in Cambridge, Ohio. She was a member of Eastern Stars and was a talented, as well as trained, vocalist.

They made many moves over their nearly 50 years of marriage. She had a chance to sing as a soloist in the Methodist Church each time. After 23 household moves, they retired in Raleigh, N.C., where Dr. Rice was the Federal Veterinarian in charge of the state of North Carolina. They then moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., for 23 years.

In 2004, she moved to Brevard to be closer to her daughter and family. She owned her own home for several years before later residing in College Walk.

Her loving survivors include her daughter, Robin Aldy, and husband, Aubrey (Sonny), of Brevard; grandsons, Aubrey Aldy III and wife, Crystal, of Naples, Fla. and Robert Aldy, of Brevard; sister-in-law, Evelyn Hibberd, of Prescott, Ariz .; nieces, Linda Larivee, of Prescott and Laura Joy, of Fredericksburg, Va .; also, nephew, David Simpson, of Pennsylvania.
