Nancy Julia Harris

Nancy Julia Harris, 65, of Brevard, passed from her earthly life to peace, healing and wholeness, Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

She was born in Transylvania County March 16, 1952, to the late Larry and Nancy Julia Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by special friend, Gerald A. Wilson Sr .; six brothers, Harold Harris, Ralph Harris, Charles Harris, William Hume Harris, Robert Harris and Rev. Larry Harris; brothers-in-law, William Robinson and Richard Robinson; and three sisters, Mary Louise Glass, Nella Harris and Lois Ann Harris; sister-in-law, Maggie Harris; and two great-grandchildren, twins, Kelen and Elysia.

She was affectionately known as “Kitten” by friends and loved ones. Outspoken at times, she was very forthright over things she was passionate about. She never knew a stranger and was extremely generous.

She had a great love for the Lord, life and laughter. One of her favorite sayings was, “Joy does cometh in the morning.”

Left to cherish her loving memory is her one and only daughter, Alisia Harris, and son-in-law, Elijah Philips-heck; granddaughters, Katelyn, Jaylin and Taylar; three sisters, Carolyn Robinson; Essie Pear Harris and Margaret McCall, and brother-in-law, Clifford McCall; one aunt, Harriet Burgess; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. Marshall Erwin officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in Cooper’s Cemetery in Brevard.
