Harvestfest's Games, Goodies Make For A Lively Day - Brevard, NC

They're Off! cried the crowd as youngsters wheeled down the pavement outside the Lodge on a variety of kiddie pedal power vehicles. Harvestfest provided the three-wheelers free and a mild sunny day provided the setting.

Harvestfest, a fund-raising event focused on autumn fun, attracted scores of kids and adults Saturday for a day of fun and games at the Masonic Lodge on East Main Street in Brevard.

There were hula hoops and face painting, ring tossing and scarecrow stuffing, and even a pie contest where for $5 you could taste some 20 different pies and say whose is best.

It was a joint venture by The Children's Center and The Family Place, two Transylvania County organizations dedicated to families and children.
