CROP Walk Raises Nearly $9,000 To Fight Hunger - Brevard, NC

Eighty-five people gathered for the annual CROP Hunger Walk in Brevard on Sunday, Oct. 1.

Walkers came from eight local church congregations, the youth Rotarian group, InterAct and the community at large.

The 3.1 mile walk through Brevard reminds walkers that many persons, here and abroad, must walk to access food, water, shelter, jobs and medical care.

Money raised by the walk goes to Sharing House (25 percent) to assist in hunger relief in Transylvania County, and the rest to national/international disaster and hunger relief projects through Church World Service. The amount of funds...
