Regarding The National Anthem

As I approach my 93rd birthday and consider the recent displays of disrespect for the flag I consider near sacred, I am compelled to express my thoughts.

Having lost my mother and father at an early age, and while WWII was raging, I entered the Navy as a 17-year-old. I volunteered for submarine service. My basic training instructor was called “Pappy Yuhle.” Upon the first day of class Chief Yuhle asked every student to state his name and where he was from. Chief Yuhle never took notes.
